    Interface VertexProtection

    Vertices a brush op (inflate, smooth, relax, grab) holds back. After the op runs, each listed vertex's move is scaled by its weight: 0 leaves it at exactly the bytes it had, 1 keeps the whole move. The op's report describes its own move, before the scaling, and it stays one undo step; an op alone whose brush holds only vertices at 0 reports 0 and leaves no step. List only what the brush can reach: every listed vertex costs time per call.

    INVALID_ARGUMENT from repair when a vertex is not alive, a weight is outside [0, 1], or the lists differ in length.

    interface VertexProtection {
        vertices: Uint32Array<ArrayBufferLike> | readonly number[];
        weights?: Float32Array<ArrayBufferLike> | readonly number[];
    }
    Index
    vertices: Uint32Array<ArrayBufferLike> | readonly number[]

    The vertex slots to protect.

    weights?: Float32Array<ArrayBufferLike> | readonly number[]

    One weight per vertex, each in [0, 1]; unset holds every listed vertex fully (all 0).
